Cheryl Meyer is a senior writer at The Deal, where she covers software and other technology.
Prior to joining The Deal five years ago, she worked as a freelance writer, covering technology, healthcare and other business issues for numerous websites and publications, including the Orange County Register, the Los Angeles Times, Digital Coast Reporter magazine and CNNfn.com, and as a full-time healthcare reporter on the business desk at the News Journal, a Gannett daily in Wilmington, Del.
During her 22 years as a professional journalist Ms. Meyer has also held reporter or editor positions at the Intelligencer Journal in Lancaster, Pa., Executive Update magazine in Washington, D.C., and Gazette Newspapers in Bethesda, Md.
She received a BA in Political Science at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she currently serves on the alumni board, and an MA in Journalism and Public Affairs from The American University in Washington, DC. She is based in Laguna Niguel, California.
