Bill Collins is president of the Los Angeles Network of the Tech Coast Angels, the dominant source of angel funding and guidance in southern California with over 250 members and 25 venture capital affiliate firms. He is also founder of Publex Ventures, an investment firm that provides funding and guidance to micro- and small-cap public companies as well private companies seeking public liquidity.
After receiving an EE degree from Clarkson University, Mr. Collins started his career at Intel Corporation. He quickly became one of the lead sales people on the IBM account, helping to establish the Intel-IBM relationship. He was a key executive for International Rectifier, ramping the company from $60M to over $700M. Collins was instrumental in taking their power MOS technology from the early adopter phase to global market leadership.
Mr. Collins is an active angel investor with a successful portfolio and multiple director and advisor roles. He is a certified corporate director and a guest lecturer at Cal Tech, USC and UCLA and LARTA.
