Doug Burke

Douglas Burke founded Burke Advisors to provide strategic merger and acquisition advice to technology clients. He has particular expertise working with clients in the infrastructure software, security, network and systems management software, internet based and on-line businesses and technology-enabled business service companies.

Mr. Burke has demonstrated the ability to close complicated and challenging transactions by providing his clients a very high level of focused attention and service. He has the proven ability to understand and communicate the strategic value of complicated technologies, and has the demonstrated skills to solve complicated transactional problems including legal issues, financial issues, personnel retention / motivation, and tax consequences inherent in technology M&A transactions.

Mr. Burke enjoys assisting entrepreneurs in high growth companies achieve their goals. He began his investment banking career in 1984 and has focused on technology transactions since 1994. During his career, he has closed over 65 transactions with aggregate transaction value in excess of $1 billion. Most recently, he advised Systems Research Development (SRD) in its sale to IBM, Rainfinity on its sale of certain assets and intellectual property rights to Symantec, iPIX on its sale of certain assets and intellectual property rights to eBay, and Medi.com on its sale to MedifaxEDI.

Prior to founding Burke Advisors, Mr. Burke founded and led the Information Technology Software and Services practice at Montgomery & Co., a boutique investment bank focused on prov iding M&A advice to entrepreneurs. Prior to this, he led Tucker Anthony Sutro & Co.s private placement, emerging growth and software groups, and helped raise more than $1 billion in capital for high-growth entrepreneurial companies.

Mr. Burke serves on the board of directors for the Los Angeles Venture Association (LAVA) and The Wellness Community of Los Angeles.

He received his M.B.A. from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College, where he also holds a B.A. with honors, in economics and German.
